Honey, I’m home

I feel like…

…I am in a romance. Evan picked me up at the airport after way too many months of not seeing each other.

…I am on skype. Ainsley now brings me those nice green smoothies that Evan drinks when when we skype.

…I am a tourist in my own city. It’s a bit strange to be back.

… I have to be careful when crossing the street. I have absolutely no idea where cars could be coming from. Even when I think I know, I don’t.

…I am too hungry to type. Let’s go find some food.

The feedback for my assignments was grand, but I need to continue to work on including fewer anecdotes. I’ll try again next semester…

Last week in Dublin

My last Thursday in Dublin and, SURPRISE, it’s raining… I think I’ll give my sore leg a rest and spend the day here at home. In the evening we’re invited to Kristel’s house for one of many good-bye parties. I’m already starting to miss my IMEC family.

Last Day as an Intern!

YES! I’ve had such a nice time, but it will be nice to be on vacation for a week before I go home the following week!

I liked getting a look behind the scenes and being involved in research projects much bigger than what I am used to.

I think the data gathering was most memorable. It was so hard for me to be an observer and to assess the environment. My teacher instincts were telling me to smile at the kids and play with them…

I’ve also learned a lot about SPSS. Mostly I’ve been putting in data, but we have started to analyze it, which was very exciting.

At the beginning of the internship I was a tiny bit worried that I forgot how to work with grown-ups in an office, but it wasn’t a problem at all. I had to get used to the idea that I can go to the bathroom whenever I need to without getting someone to watch the data while I’m gone.
