Our last month in the city
We are approaching our last month in Vancouver. Evan has already finished his last day at work and mine is coming up this week.
Our challenge for the next month: A photo a day to share with you how we are transitioning into a new life on Vancouver Island. Enjoy!
The Community Garden
Our faculty meeting has been moved to the community garden. It’s the first sunny day in weeks and I welcome the idea. As I arrive a band is playing, what a lovely coincidence! Or not?
SURPRISE!!!
Sylvia is taking my photo as I arrive and I feel as though I am walking down the isle. The band is playing, there are flowers, food, a canvas for painting, and of course my colleagues and friends. I already know that this was the best surprise party I’ll ever have 🙂 A celebration of my time at Cap as a student and instructor. Now what will I do next in this crazy life?

My IMEC sister in Vancouver
Last week I met Stephanie for lunch, my IMEC sister by default. We haven’t me before, because we were in different years of the program. Stephanie just moved back to Vancouver, an event that I have been looking forward to for a few years now! We spent the whole afternoon talking about our student life in Europe and our plans for the coming years. The most exciting idea was a job/home share. Evan and I would keep our jobs in I/T and teaching, while Stephanie and her husband go traveling. After a year Stephanie and her husband would take over our jobs while we explore the world. Repeat.

Holiday Greetings from Prince Rupert
Over the Holidays I got to spent a week with my sister in Prince Rupert. Lots of adventures once again… we went swimming, hiking, and crabbing. Went to the microbrewery, made Sushi, had a bon fire for New Years Day. Ate cookies from Oma.
Now I am back in snowy Vancouver and remembering those lovely mornings with snuggles from my nephews.
