The bitterblog turns 10

Just over 10 years ago I was inspired by my instructor Kathleen to create a blog. We had created blogs for our class and I was excited to take on blogging beyond school. I needed a blog for my studies in the International Master in Early Childhood to stay in touch with my friends and family. Jared came up with the name. Evan hosted the site. And off I went to Europe for a life changing adventure!

10 years later.

I hope to inspire students to create blogs (lives!) that have a life beyond school. I also co-compose our VIU ECEC Blog with my dear colleague Cheryl, our students, and educators in the community. I am so grateful for the past decade. I saw many of my IMEC sisters earlier this week on Zoom, they were joining from England, Croatia, Belize, Ireland, and Spain. And I work with Kathleen who first inspired me to create a blog.

IMEC 2.0

My colleagues and I are creating a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education & Care. This is such exciting and meaningful work. We have had many consultations with community members, elders, and students. Last week we were joined by my academic sister Becky and her colleague from our partner university in Belize. What an incredible way to celebrate 10 years of friendship since our paths first crossed in the IMEC program!
